Gymnastics Class Descriptions
Parent and Tot
This class is for children 15 months to 3 years old. They will participate in a structured class with their parents by their side. This class is 45 minutes longs
Pre-Gym
This class is for children 3 to 5 years old. It offers basic skill development and introduction to the bars, beam, and vault. This class is 45 minutes long.
Beginner Class
This class is for children 5 years and up, individually grouped by ages, It is for students that are new to the sport and students that have some experience. They will learn skills on the floor, bars, beam and vault. These classes are 45-55 minutes long.
Boys Classes
Although al our other classes can be co-ed. These classes are specifically designed for boys. We offer floor, pommel, rings and P bars to come.
Tumbling
We offer a variety of Tumbling classes from beginner to advanced students. These classes are focused on floor skills. These classes are 55 minutes long.
Gym I
This class is for students that have mastered forward and backward rolls, handstand, cartwheels, and standing backbend. They will alternate weekly on bars, beam, and vault while continuing to increase their skills on the floor each week. This class is 55 minutes long.
Gym II / III
Gym II & Gym III is a combined class for students who have mastered back walk-over, front limber, roundoff rebound, and run-dive cartwheel. Must have experience in bars, beam, and vault. Gym III is for students who have mastered their standing back handspring, round-off back handspring with assist, front handspring and aerial. On the bars, must have back pull-over, back hip circle, and shoot through. On beam, students must have handstands, cartwheel, and handstand dismount. This class is 55 minutes long.
Recreation Cheerleading
In this program, students will learn the basics of cheer. They will work on sideline cheers, beginning to advanced, and choreographed; focusing on jumps, motions, basic tumbling, and stunting through the first part of the session. They will meet once per week and perform at several games throughout the season. They will require a uniform and practice shoes. This class is 55 minutes long.
JC Twisters - All Star Competition Cheerleading Team
Our team tryouts are held in April and July of each year. There is a mandatory parent informational meeting held before tryouts. The team meets 3 times per week and travels up to five hours away for competitions. All team members are required to take 4 hours per week.
N.A.C. Competition Tumbling Team
We have a beginner to advanced tumbling team competing in 5 competitions per year in the Kansas City area. Tryouts are held in August. This class will require a uniform leotard. All team members are required to take 3 hours of classes per week.
XCEL /USAG Gymnastics Competition Team
We have a brand new USAG qualified team this year. Students will have the opportunity to compete on several apparatuses including the bars, beam, vault, and floor. Tryouts will be held in August. All team members are required to take 5 hours per week.
